Learning Outcomes of UE

This TU focuses on short to long term open and closed economy macroeconomics. It aims at enabling the students to :
- Understand and use national accounts (determination of GDP, unemployment and inflation);
- Master the behavioural underpinnings of macroeconomic equilibria (consumption, investment, money demand and supply, ...);
- Understand fix-price equilibria (IS/TR; Mundell-Fleming under fixed exchange rates) and flex-price equilibria (Phillips curve, aggregated demand and supply);
- Apply the above concepts to current economic policy issues (especially budgetary and monetary policy).

UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance

The learning activities of the TU are completely complementary and differ only in the way they are taught.
