Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Implement an engineering approach dealing with a set problem taking into account technical, economic and environmental constraints
    • Identify and describe the problem to be solved and the functional need (of prospective clients) to be met considering the state of technology
    • Design, evaluate and optimise solutions addressing the problem
    • Implement a chosen solution in the form of a drawing, a schema, a plan, a model, a prototype, software and/or digital model
    • Identify and acquire the information and skills needed to solve the problem
  • Understand the theoretical and methodological fundamentals in science and engineering to solve problems involving these disciplines
    • Identify, describe and explain basic scientific and mathematical principles
    • Understand laboratory techniques: testing, measuring, monitoring protocol, and security
    • Select and rigorously apply knowledge, tools and methods in sciences and engineering to solve problems involving these disciplines

Learning Outcomes of UE

Being able to analyze and design electronic circuits based on passive components (resistors, capacitors and inductors) and active components (opamps). Being able to design analog filters, both passive and active ones, and understand their main properties. Being able to design acquisition chains for instrumentation and measurement problems.

UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance

Properties and laws, Laplace transform, Fourier transform, Phasors, Bode plots, Nodal analysis for linear circuits
2. Operational amplifiers
Ideal opamps, Main imperfections, Virtual grounds/virtual shorts, Main opamp circuits, Analysis of retroaction, Gain-Bandwidth product, The internals of opamps, Other imperfections
3. Filters
Principle, Filter types (Butterworth, Chebyshev, Elliptiques et Bessel), Implementation based on LC ladder filters, Implementation based on opamps, Introduction to switched capacitor filters and microstrip filters
4. Instrumentation
