Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcomes of UE
This Teaching Unit offers two distincts parts: one dédicated to microeconomic analysis, the other dedicated to macroeconomic analysis.
The first focuses on microeconomic analysis and will be structured around three parts enabling the students to:
- Understand the consumer behavior's process (consumer behavior, individual demand and market demand, uncertainty and behavior);
- Master the producer decision's process (production, production costs);
- Understand the existing market structures (profit maximization and competitive supply, market power, monopolistic competition and oligopoly).
The second one focuses on short to long term open and closed economy macroeconomics. It aims at enabling the students to :
- Understand and use national accounts (determination of GDP, unemployment and inflation);
- Master the behavioural underpinnings of macroeconomic equilibria (consumption, investment, money demand and supply, ...);
- Understand fix-price equilibria (IS/TR; Mundell-Fleming under fixed exchange rates) and flex-price equilibria (Phillips curve, aggregated demand and supply);
- Apply the above concepts to current economic policy issues (especially budgetary and monetary policy).
Exceptionally this academic year 2022-2023, it is possible that the organization of the course will be somewhat modified and that more hours of online courses will be given, via the Microsoft Stream platform.
Whatever the organization, students will be informed in due time and coaching sessions will of course be organized.
