Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Have a complete understanding. Analyse any communicative situation (real or depicted) in reference to the theoretical and methodological frameworks within various scientific approaches to language.
    • Master and appropriately mobilise knowledge and methodological approaches to understand and explain the normal/atypical/pathological functioning of individuals, groups or organisations, using any form of language.
  • Communicate effectively. Communicate and exchange information in a structured and adapted way to the intended purpose and relevant public.
    • Present and structure data in a clear, precise, neutral, and non-oriented way.
  • Have a willingness to keep learning. Assess and pursue professional and personal development.
    • Monitor knowledge and methodological approaches in order to evolve their thinking and practice.
  • Adopt a scientific approach. Master the scientific approaches in language sciences.
    • Appropriately apply different scientific research methods.
  • Technological Mediation: Subtitling, Dubbing, Respeaking and Audiodescription : adopt a specialist approach. Master the concepts, techniques, methods and devices specific to audio-visual translation and subtitling/dubbing
    • Master the different steps to carry out research in audio-visual translation with technological support and psycho-educational dimension.
    • Know how to use various audio-visual translation and terminology software (e.g. computer-assisted translation software, translation memory, terminology database, voice recognition software).
    • Take appropriate action regarding cinema and television for subtitling, dubbing, adaption, labialisation, audiodescription, respeaking, fansub-fandub and automatic subtitling: view audio-visual material, translate and adapt the dialogues and commentaries, draw up a quote, and produce a DVD according to market standards.
    • Subtitle and dub a film/documentary on a USB device or cloud according to market norms.
    • Master the skills of proofreading and translation-adaptation (understand techniques and strategies of labialisation, proofreading and revision).
