Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Use lexicographical resources and reference materials to lead linguistic mediation activities individually or as part of a team (professional skills)
    • Use printed or electronic dictionaries and reference materials appropriately
    • Reformulate, summarise, translate or interpret a document of general interest written or presented orally in a foreign language into French
  • Conduct relevant research and report on it in a critical manner (cognitive skills)
    • Assess the relevance and reliability of documentary sources used

Learning Outcomes of UE

At the end of the 2nd block, students will be able to:
- identify the logic of a text of general interest in a foreign language; - render the meaning in correct French;
- make good use of current dictionaries and reference works.
- to put grammatical analysis at the service of translation.

UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance



Familiarisation with the basic principles and techniques of written translation. Introduction to the written translation of informative and pragmatic texts, accessible at CEFR B1 level. Grammatical analysis and introduction to contrastive grammar.
