Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Understand language of instruction and foreign languages (language skills)
    • Use French perfectly in a variety of non-technical situations, both orally and in writing
    • Understand, reformulate and summarise documents and presentations, in French, on various topics written by experts, including those related to current affairs
  • Understand and integrate cultural similarities and differences (cultural and intercultural skills)
    • Demonstrate real knowledge of the cultures of the studied languages
    • Identify cultural differences and talk about them
  • Use everyday technology (technological skills)
    • Use standard office software tools and editorial assistance effectively
  • Use lexicographical resources and reference materials to lead linguistic mediation activities individually or as part of a team (professional skills)
    • Use printed or electronic dictionaries and reference materials appropriately
  • Conduct relevant research and report on it in a critical manner (cognitive skills)
    • Conduct targeted and reasoned documentary research in both the core language and the foreign languages studied

Learning Outcomes of UE

Demonstrate real knowledge of the cultures of arabic countries.  Identify cultural differences and talk about them.  Be familiar with codes and conventions of other cultures in arabic countries.  Develop knowledge in various fields, in particular arabic countries.

UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance

Students will become acquainted with the geographical, historical and socioeconomic context of the language they are studying. They will have to do research and hand in personal assignements on questions related to these topics.
