Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Understand language of instruction and foreign languages (language skills)
    • Communicate easily and adequately, in both selected foreign languages, at a minimum level of B2 in line with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)

Learning Outcomes of UE

Upon completion of the language courses of the first block, students will have a good command of the foreign language at the B1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

They will be able to understand:
- the description of events, feelings and wishes;
- the main points in a conversation of clear standard input on familiar matters;
- the main points of radio and television news bulletins about familiar subjects or current events, delivered relatively slowly and clearly.    

They will be able to:
- take part in an unprepared conversation on familiar topics, everyday issues or of personal interest;
- express themselves in a simple way in order to tell experiences and events, hopes and projects;
- briefly explain their opinions and projects;
- tell the story or the plot of a book or a film and express their reactions.

UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance

Class activities centred on:
- understanding of general, particular and detailed information;
- developing efficient listening strategies;
- using lexical research methods and structural analysis;
- the description, narration and expression of personal opinions in familiar and predictable situations using a simple and functional, reasonably correct language.

Commented listening of audio(-visual) recordings.
Structural and lexical exercises (functional usage of common phrases and expressions).
Speaking exercises.
