Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Understand language of instruction and foreign languages (language skills)
    • Communicate easily and adequately, in both selected foreign languages, at a minimum level of B2 in line with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
  • Understand and integrate cultural similarities and differences (cultural and intercultural skills)
    • Identify cultural differences and talk about them
  • Use lexicographical resources and reference materials to lead linguistic mediation activities individually or as part of a team (professional skills)
    • Use printed or electronic dictionaries and reference materials appropriately

Learning Outcomes of UE

Upon completion of the language courses of the first block, students will have a good command of the foreign language at the A2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. At the end of the 1st term, the level will be A1. Students will be able to:
- understand phrases and expressions related to areas of most immediate priority (e.g. basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, education);
- catch the main point in short, clear, simple messages and announcements;
- understand and extract the essential information from short, recorded passages dealing with predictable everyday matters which are delivered slowly and clearly. 
- describe aspects of their environment (family, living conditions, educational background, etc.) with simple phrases and sentences linked with simple connectors;
- describe events, past activities and personal experiences;
 

UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance

Class activities centred on :
- understanding of general, particular and detailed information ;
- developing efficient listening strategies ;
- using lexical research methods and structural analysis ;
- production utterances about various topics.

Commented listening of audio(-visual) recordings.
Structural and lexical exercises (functional usage of common phrases and expressions).
Speaking exercises.
