Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

Learning Outcomes of UE

To provide deeper knowledge in the field of ecology, by studying various marine ecosystems. Hydrosphere, oceanic zones and name for the different water masses. Pelagic ecosystem, Benthic ecosystems (including abyssal, neritic, mangroves and coral reefs).

Ecosystem; Biocenose; Trophic chain; Phytoplankton; Primary producers; Zooplankton; Consumer; Top-down, Bottom-up, Wasp-waist models; Vertical migration; Patchy distribution; Upwelling and frontal zones; Intertidal zone; Zonation; Macrophytes; Caulerpa; Seagrass beds; Mangrove; Sand beds; Reef; Hermatypic corals; Holobiont; Pelagic fishes; Reef fishes; Lottery model; Deep-sea fauna.

Prior Experience

Bases in general ecology, chemistry and physics.
