Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Apply scientific methodology.

Learning Outcomes of UE

By the end of the course the student will be able to:
- understand in detail texts related or not to IT sciences
- express his or her opinion on any topic related to global issues and/or related to IT sciences
- exercise their discrimination when using internet tools and sites to further develop their langage skills.

UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance

This is a 30-hour course divided into: 
>> 2 face-to-face 3-hour sessions in Charleroi
>> 15 hours of online class time (TEAMS/ZOOM)
>> 9 hours of online tests and tasks/assignments, participation in FORUMS/APPS/PROJECTS indicated by the teacher
- vocabulary and grammar exercises
- reading (texts related to IT sciences)
- listening exercises (audio and video)
- writing and speaking exercises
-using IT tools and the Internet (wiki, blogs, skype, plateformes et sites d'e-learning), either individually or in a team
The course will be given online and face-to-face.

If the student passes the pre-course test, he/she gets dispensation from the said course. The mark given on the pre-course test will be converted to meet the level of the final examination/ evaluation, as productive skills cannot be extensively tested. 
Students will be tested on: 
- listening and reading skills
- knowledge and use of grammar and vocabulary
- writing skills (summarizing/giving one's opinion on a given topic)

100% of the overall mark will be distributed as follows: 
1) 50% given for assignment-based oral evaluation. To gain access to the oral examination, students must hand in their assignments.
2) 50% given for class-based grammar and vocab content as well as listening/reading comprehension exercises
