Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Skill 1: Have acquired highly specialised and integrated knowledge and broad skills inbiological sciences, adding to those covered in the Bachelor's programme in biological sciences.
  • Skill 2: Have acquired professional skills relating to the degree.
    • Apply, mobilise, articulate and promote the knowledge and skills acquired in order to contribute to the achievement of research project in biology.
  • Skill 4: Master communication techniques.
    • Communicate, in English both orally and in writing, their findings, original proposals, knowledge and underlying principles, in a clear, structured and justified manner.
  • Skill 5: Develop and integrate a high degree of autonomy.
    • Aquire new knowledge independently.

Learning Outcomes of UE

The main objective of this course is to describe the major tools uise di the rediciton of potektail toxic effects of chemicals.  Consequently, at the end of this course, the students will be able to :

-  understand and describe the predictive approach based on structure-activity relationship (QSAR)

- Use the available predictive softwares for the prediction of the metabolism and the safety of a substance from its chemical structure

UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance

This class focuses on in silico models, including QSAR approaches, computer assisted drug design concepts (CADDs), and Bayesian-based exert systems
