Learning Outcomes of UE
understand the basic principles of microwave engineering with emphasis on line theory, metallic and dielectric waveguides, two-port networks characterization and scattering parameters.
UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance
Introduction; Transmission line theory (basic equations, sinusoidal traveling waves, Smith charts, transients on a line); Impedance matching networks; Two-port networks (scattering coefficients); Propagation in metallic and dielectric waveguides.
