Programme component

Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Imagine, design, optimise, carry out and implement projects and solutions to address a complex problem by integrating needs, contexts and issues (technical, economic, societal, ethical and environmental).
    • On the basis of modelling, design one or more projects and solutions addressing the problem raised; evaluate them in light of various parameters of the specifications.
    • Implement a chosen solution in the form of a drawing, a schema, a plan, a model, a prototype, software and/or digital model

Learning Outcomes of UE

interpret mechanical drawing of parts and assemblies;
summarise the general principle of several manufacturing techniques for metallic parts using the appropriate technical vocabulary;
identify the advantages and drawbacks of those processes;
describe the constraints linked to several manufacturing processes;
choose the appropriate material for given application and manufacturing technology;
identify, justify the selection and calculate the strength of main machines components

UE Content: description and pedagogical relevance

fundamental of engineering drawing; casting, plastic deformation shaping and machining process; welded and bolted joints; failure of machine components

Prior Experience

fundamental of geometry, physics, material strength, material sciences.
