      Content of Learning Activity

Innovation is a concept that has many dimensions, all of which include the idea of novelty, progress (new technologies, new products, new organizations, ...) but also the creation of value and wealth (for shareholders? for society? for citizens? ...).
The course proposes an overview of these multiple facets, clarifies the differences between innovation, research, creativity, inventiveness, etc... It focuses on the innovation process in companies, sheds light on the issues related to major societal challenges and sustainable development (e.g. ecological transition, digital transition) and how technologies can either provide solutions or negatively affect the lives of citizens, without forgetting gender issues in innovation.
The aim of the course is to provide science students with the basic concepts to equip them to take a critical look at the (mainly technological) evolution of our societies.
At the moment, the lecture is supported by slides, complemented with some audio or video material.
