      Content of Learning Activity

      Practical work on clinical reasoning
9 hours of virtual clinical cases (SercoMed/H5P), and/or face-to-face, and/or attendance at seminars conducted by clinicians
6 hours of discussion of clinical situations with pharmacy students

NB: During the common sessions, the students will learn the Basic Life Support of cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

This practical work aims to familiarize the student with the clinical approach. This is done as follows
      - Collection of anamnestic data
      - Clinical examination
      - Selection and interpretation of complementary examinations
      - Elaboration of a therapeutic plan
      - Follow-up of the patient and implementation of secondary or tertiary prevention measures

These sessions nevertheless emphasize the history and clinical examination, which constitute the genesis of the clinical reasoning. Some attention is also given to the selection and interpretation of additional tests routinely performed in the clinic, such as ECG, blood tests, urine tests, chest x-rays, and pulmonary function tests.
During the course of the program, the student will collaborate with fellow pharmacy students in certain sessions. The objective of these joint sessions is to sensitize the student community of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy to the importance of collaboration between these two professions in the optimization of patient care.

At the end of this practical work, the student will be able to
      - Identify and specify the reason(s) for consultation.
      - Be able to correctly identify a clinical sign
      - Be able to interpret this sign and understand its physio-pathological significance
      - Be able to integrate this clinical sign with elements from the history and other findings from the clinical examination in order to generate certain diagnostic hypotheses
