      Content of Learning Activity

      Factors of heritage degradation. - Specific pathologies (stone, brick, concrete, earth, wood, iron). - Current scientific techniques that allow the analysis and quantification of the state of preservation of the main materials used in ancient constructions (tomography, radiography, structural monitoring, etc.). -Conservation and restoration techniques for ancient materials and structures. Proactive and curative measures for heritage conservation. - Conservation of masonry (cleaning, waterproofing and consolidation methods,...). - Conservation of concrete (curative solutions). - Wood conservation (preservation against natural attacks, methods of reinforcement and replacement of structural elements). - Laboratory analysis (moisture measurement, ionic analysis, spectrometry, microscopic analysis, thermogravimetric analysis,...).
