Learning Outcomes of UE

After completing this teachning unit, students will be able to identify various types of financial risks and to use derivatives and hedging strategies to alleviate them.

Content of UE

The teaching unit will investigate how financial risks arise and how they are managed to ensure firm survival in the long run. Considering the heterogeneity among financial risks, each type of financial risks will be examined separately to identify suited risk mitigation techniques.  Specifically, credit risk, market risk, interest risk, currency and commodity risks and liquidity risk will be presented with appropriate solutions to manage them.
