Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

Learning Outcomes of UE

Define, comment and weight the objectives and instruments of economic policy. Give the main causes of unemplyment and explain the policies that foster full employment. Explain and comment the evolution of public expenditure in OECD countries. Explain Wagner's law, prove and draw the conclusions of the median voter theorem. Explain the general scheme of budget policy, interpret budget balances, establish and use correctly the formula of the snowball effect, give and comment the criteria for the evaluation of the quality of fiscal policies. Calculate a fiscal path under the given assumptions. Give and explain the budget principles et the way they are applied. Explain the timing of the drawing up of budgets. Set in their context and explain the Regions and Communities funding mechanism as they emerged of the 1970, 1980n 1988-1989, 1993, 2001, 2014 reforms. Review, alone or in group, a question linked with an econmic or social issue.

Content of UE

Introduction. Economic policy. Full employment. Public expenditure in OECD countries. Basic mechanism of budget analysis : revenues, expenses, balances, debt, net borrowing requirements. The budget : definition, characteristics, principles. Funding Regions : 1970 -2001. Funding Communities. The 6th State reform.
