Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Implement an academic view on knowledge, particularly through the mastery of methods and literature research tools.
    • Understand, synthesise and discuss complex information and texts on economics and management.
  • Demonstrate working and analytical rigour.
    • Be rigorous and independent in learning, particularly through adequate planning of activities to be undertaken in order to best utilise the time available.
    • Develop their scientific curiosity and open-mindedness
    • Demonstrate self-awareness, assess themself, and adapt.

Learning Outcomes of UE

Gives a synthesis of world economic and social history, more particularly of the western countries. Explains basic historical concepts which allow to understand the most important evolutions. At the end of the instruction, the students will be able to see the actual western society, its work and production schemes, in the historical context and to question it.

Content of UE

History of work and of the different categories of workers that appeared within the historical evolution from the beginnings of mankind up to now. Description and analysis of the coming of agriculture, crafts and industry. Advancements and problems of the western economic system.
