Learning Outcomes of UE

At the end of the 2nd block of the master in interpreting, students will be able to : - understand a French speech and pick up on the structure after hearing the speech for the first time ; - reformulate the speech in correct, natural English, avoiding literal translations, after having quickly researched the subject and terminology ; - describe and justify strategies employed.

Content of UE

Consecutive interpretation, into the foreign language, of speeches of varying lengths and of a fairly low degree of specialization. Exercises based on non-prepared speeches, freely-rendered written texts or recordings of original speeches.
