Learning Outcomes of UE
At the end of the first block of the master's degree in liaison interpreting, students will be able to apply techniques of liaison interpreting (bi-directional) to interactions requiring a low degree of specialization, such as:
- produce, bi-directionally, the original messages in French and in English, fluently and accurately, in language that is free of syntactic or grammatical errors that may impede understanding and, by extension, effective communication;
- access key terminology and technical knowledge as needed;
- recognize discursive strategies used by the speakers and reproduce them faithfully in the other language;
- demonstrate flexibility and an ability to cope with the polyvalent nature of the task;
- draw on intercultural knowledge and interpersonal skills as needed;
- Demonstrate an understanding of and ability to adhere to the ethics of liaison interpretation.
