Learning Outcomes of UE
To have learned the basics of General Relativity
Content of UE
The equivalence principle. Introduction to Riemannian geometry. Motion of a test body in the gravitational field: the geodesic equation. Einstein's equations. Exact solutions of Einstein's equations. Experimental tests of General Relativity. Introduction to modern, relativistic cosmology.
Prior Experience
Special Relativity and tensorial calculus, classical Electrodynamics and Electromagnetism, Analytical Mechanics, Linear Algebra, Analysis.
