Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcomes of UE
At the end of this course, students will be able to understand the importance of organelles communication for the maintenance of cellular homeostasis and the role of these processes in the development or progression of diseases such as metabolic diseases.
Content of UE
The course content will focus on the central role of mitochondria in cellular homeostasis: its biogenesis, dynamics and functions. Then, the communication processes between the mitochondria and other organelles will be discussed: mitochondria-ER; mitochondria-nucleus; mitochondria-lysosome; mitochondria-peroxysome. Finally, the concept of mechanotransduction will be discussed in the course.
