Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcomes of UE
This training will provide the necessary understanding of microbes (bacteria and viruses), modes of transmission and infection cycle, and diagnostic procedures. During this apprenticeship, the student will develop an in-depth knowledge of both bacterial and viral pathogens involved in human infections. He'll learn measures to prevent and control those infections and he will be able to have an appreciation for news and major issues related to Microbiology (outbreaks, emerging bugs, ...).
Content of UE
This UE is composed of 2 AA, each divided into several chapters: First part: I/ Introduction II/ Basics of Bacteriology III/ Basics of Virology IV/ Host-pathogen relationship V/ Microbiological diagnosis; Second part: 1/ clinically important bacteria 2/ clinically important viruses 3/ prevention and control measures 4/ illustrations. Practical works illustrate the theory.
Prior Experience
Basics in Immunology and Biology.
