Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Implement an engineering approach dealing with a set problem taking into account technical, economic and environmental constraints
    • Identify and describe the problem to be solved and the functional need (of prospective clients) to be met considering the state of technology
  • Understand the theoretical and methodological fundamentals in science and engineering to solve problems involving these disciplines
    • Identify, describe and explain basic scientific and mathematical principles
    • Identify, describe and explain the basic principles of engineering particularly in their specialising field
  • Demonstrate thoroughness and independence throughout their studies
    • Develop their scientific curiosity and open-mindedness

Learning Outcomes of UE

Knowledge of the main environmental and energy concepts;
Evaluate of the impact of industrial activities and particularly energy processes on the environment and consider how to implement them with sustainable development considerations ; use of non-renewable resources;
Comparison of different processes and selection according to objective criteria.

Content of UE

Natural environment (spheres, cycles, mineral and energy resources);
Entropic impact (greenhouse effect, ozone layer, acid rain);
Energy and mineral consumption;
Sustainable development;
Systems of conversion, production of energy and their impacts : raw material, energy consumption , gases emissions, waste, ...
Wastewater treatment, gases treatments, waste management;
Ecoconception, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
