Content of Learning Activity
During the sessions (scheduled for 4 hours each), students will discuss modern experimental techniques aimed at characterizing the physical and chemical properties of materials.
Among these techniques, we will find :
- Mechanical tests
- Contact angle measurements
- Ellipsometry (in collaboration with the Laboratoire de Physique des Matériaux et Optique)
- X-ray spectroscopy and spectrometry (XPS, AES, UPS, EELS, EDX,...)
- X-ray diffraction
- X-ray scattering (SAXS, WAXS, ...)
- Infra-red spectroscopy (FTIR)
- Neutron diffusion and diffraction
- Mass spectrometry (SIMS)
- Thermal analyses (DSC, TGA, DMA, ...)
- Local probe microscopy techniques (STM, AFM, ...)
- Electronic microscopy (TEM, SEM, ...)
- Super-high-resolution optical microscopy (STED, PALM, SIM, ...)
- ...
