      Content of Learning Activity

      Atomic chemistry, including quantum aspects:
      - basic concepts of quantum physics;
      - structure of the atom and notions of spectroscopy;
      - periodic table of elements.
      Chemical kinetics:
      - thermodynamics vs kinetics;
      - definition of the rate of a chemical reaction;
      - chemical reactors and balance concepts;
      - rate laws.
      Chemical reactions:
      - basic concepts of chemical equilibrium;
      - acid-base reactions;
      - precipitation and dissolution reactions;
      - oxidation-reduction reactions;
      - complexation reactions.
      Chemical thermodynamics:
      - thermodynamic quantities, systems and processes;
      - energy transfer and first law;
      - application to chemical reactions.
      States of matter:
      - properties of different states;
      - intermolecular forces;
      - equations of state.
