      Content of Learning Activity

      1.    Introduction to the concept of "computational design" 1.
      2.    Introduction to new digital technologies applied to architectural design and production.
      3.    Presentation of methods, tools and digital devices capable of supporting the activities of design, production and enhancement of architectural space.
      4.    Proposing solutions (methodological and technical) to overcome the complexity linked to new forms of architectural expression (non-standard architecture) and the new challenges of architectural design (optimisation of performance).
      5.    Learning of parametric modeling techniques (Grasshopper + Rhino (logic, uses and parametric modeling technique)
      6.    Learning of simulation and optimization techniques supported by parametric modeling
      7.    Learning 3D acquisition techniques (Photogrammetry and Laser Scanning) and Digital Manufacturing (Laser Cutting and 3D Printing).

      Required Learning Resources/Tools

      1.    Teacher presentations (depending on the topic)
      Presentations by external speakers
      2.    Application exercises (parametric modeling - numerical manufacturing - optimization)
      3.    Online tutorials and manuals on digital modeling and acquisition techniques
      4.    Bibliographic references, theses and scientific articles on digital architecture
      5.    Blogs (parametric modeling, non-standard architecture, digital manufacturing)
