Programme component

Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Understand and integrate cultural similarities and differences (cultural and intercultural skills)
    • Demonstrate real knowledge of the cultures of the studied languages
    • Identify cultural differences and talk about them
    • Be familiar with codes and conventions of other cultures for the sake of interpersonal relationships
    • Develop knowledge in various fields, in particular those aimed at by translation activities
  • Conduct relevant research and report on it in a critical manner (cognitive skills)
    • Conduct targeted and reasoned documentary research in both the core language and the foreign languages studied
    • Assess the relevance and reliability of documentary sources used
    • Give a critique of the studied literature

Learning Outcomes of UE

To understand the federal functioning of today's Germany. 
Observe and analyse several documents and be able to extract information from them that may be relevant to the issue at hand.
Analyze documents and be able to extract relevant information from them.
To be able to describe the main political institutions in Germany and to know the ins and outs of them.

Content of UE

At the end of the course the student should be able to describe, analyse and explain societal and literary phenomena relating to Germany. More specifically, the student will be interested in the functioning of German institutions and the main German literary trends.
