• Understand language of instruction and foreign languages (language skills)
• Use French perfectly in a variety of non-technical situations, both orally and in writing
• Understand, reformulate and summarise documents and presentations, in French, on various topics written by experts, including those related to current affairs
• Communicate easily and adequately, in both selected foreign languages, at a minimum level of B2 in line with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
• Understand and integrate cultural similarities and differences (cultural and intercultural skills)
• Demonstrate real knowledge of the cultures of the studied languages
• Identify cultural differences and talk about them
• Develop knowledge in various fields, in particular those aimed at by translation activities

• Use lexicographical resources and reference materials to lead linguistic mediation activities individually or as part of a team (professional skills)

Learning Outcomes of UE

- translating a text or a speech, identifying and replicating its structure, using notes if required;
- fully understanding and memorizing textes through the preparation of documents;
- render the texte in correct and fluent French translation with no errors of meaning and deliver it in a convincing fashion;
- give a description and rationale for the strategies employed.
