Programme component

Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Understand language of instruction and foreign languages (language skills)
    • Communicate easily and adequately, in both selected foreign languages, at a minimum level of B2 in line with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
  • Conduct relevant research and report on it in a critical manner (cognitive skills)
    • Give a critique of the studied literature

Learning Outcomes of UE

Students will have a good command of the foreign language at the B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. They will be able to:
- understand articles and reports concerned with contemporary problems in which the writers adopt particular stances or viewpoints, understand contemporary prose;
- write clear, detailed texts on a variety of subjects related to their fields of interest, which give information or give reasons in support of or against a particular point of view;
- follow extended speech and complex lines of argument provided the topic is reasonably familiar; understand most TV news and current affairs programmes in standard dialect;
- interact with native speakers to take part in a conversation, to express and back an opinion;
- give clear, detailed descriptions on a wide range of subjects related to their fields of interest; develop a clear point of view on a topical issue.

Content of UE

Commented reading of factual and literary texts. Commented listening of audio(-visual) recordings.
Writing exercises. Speaking exercises.
