Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcomes of UE
The major aims of this course are to develop an understanding of the human body at tissue and organ levels. The structural orientation is of importance since it allows the integration with other course such as physiology, immunology, biochemistry or cell biology. The course also aims to indicate the clinical importance of the subject and the relevance of histology in general biology. Finally, this course is an important basis for being able to understand the comparative histology of Vertebrates. The course is illustrated by practical works in light microscopy.
Content of UE
Special histology covers the structure of organ systems: Heart and circulatory systems, Immune system, digestive tract, Respiratory system, Skin, Endocrine system and Urogenital systems. This course is illustrated by practical works of light microscopy.
Prior Experience
Course of general histology ( prerequiste)
Type of Assessment for UE in Q2
Q2 UE Assessment Comments
The purpose of the evaluation is to test the student's knowledge of the theoretical notions of special Histology delivered during the course. The practical exam will assess whether the student is able to identify and interpret the morphology of the different organs observed during practical work in light microscopy.
The written theory exam accounts for 60%, oral practical exam accounts for 40% of the global note. The presence to practical works during the year is mandatory.
