Programme component

Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Understand, thoroughly and critically, the basic theoretical frameworks on social transitions and innovations.
    • Understand and appropriately apply highly specialised knowledge of human and social sciences.
    • Analyse social, political and economic change.
    • Analyse social experiment processes.
    • Analyse a situation by critically selecting the appropriate theoretical frameworks.

Learning Outcomes of UE

At the end of the course students will be able to: (a) understand the territorial issues regarding access and control from a (socio-)anthropological approach; (b) get a theoretical basis to critically think such issues (power, resistance, legal pluralism, political ecology, agency, etc.); (c) know, theoretically, the ethnographic and (socio-)anthropological approach - based on African cases - to think territorial issues. 
 

Content of UE

This course will enable students to know, understand and criticize: (a) the various conceptions of the notion of territory; (b) the issues of power, conflict and resistance concerning territory; (c) the particular cases studied anthropologically in Africa.
