      Description of the modifications to the Q3 2020-2021 assessment procedures (Covid-19)
      WRITTEN SHORT DISSERTATION WITHOUT ORAL TEST
      As in other years, the requested memory should combine one of the themes of the Pharmacologie Spéciale course with a pathology or group of pathologies (e.g. Apoptosis and Alzheimer's disease or oxidative stress and cardiovascular disease). This theme/pathology association must be endorsed by the teacher before the written dissertation being written and used as a basis for the examination score.
      This year, exceptionally, students are not required to make an oral presentation of the written dissertation, and only the written dissertation will be taken into account for the note of the examination. Guidelines for the preparation of the written thesis are available in the pdf uploaded in the student website for the Pharmacologie Spéciale course.
      Students are asked to submit their proposal (if not already done) and then their final written dissertation by email sent cojointly to these two addresses :  "joseph.vamecq@umons.ac.be" and "joseph.vamecq@inserm.fr".

      Content of Learning Activity

      The course essentially develops the following themes (with the associated therapeutic approaches) : oxidative stress, inflammatory stress with the inflammasome, hormonal nuclear receptor members (essentially PPARs, Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptors), lipoprotein metabolism, unsatruatred fatty acid families and derived mediators (including prostaglandins, thromboxanes, leucotrienes, lipoxins, resolvins, neuroprotectins) and oxidized lipids, autophagy, apoptosis and targeted therapies in cancer.
