Description of the modifications to the Q3 2020-2021 assessment procedures (Covid-19) |
Theoretical part of the course (Weighting: 70%) The assessment consists of reading a scientific and/or technical publication related to the themes seen in the course and answering open or non-open questions related to the article and the course. The exam will be written synchronously and will be open book. Practical work part (Weighting: 30%) The learning activity includes, alongside the theoretical course, practical work in the ore processing laboratory. These, carried out in groups (3 groups of 4 students this year), are subject to evaluation through the group writing a report written in English. |

Description of the modifications to the Q1 2020-2021 online assessment procedures (Covid-19) online or face-to-face (according to assessment schedule)
Theoretical part of the course (Weighting: 70%)
The assessment consists of reading a scientific and/or technical publication related to the themes seen in the course and answering open or non-open questions related to the article and the course. The exam will be written synchronously and will be open book.
Practical work part (Weighting: 30%)
The learning activity includes, alongside the theoretical course, practical work in the ore processing laboratory. These, carried out in groups (3 groups of 4 students this year), are subject to evaluation through the group writing a report written in English.
The practical work, which aims at the handling by the students of ore processing equipment (crushers, particle size analyser, shaking table, sampling devices), can only be done in the laboratory.
Obviously, if this practical work could not take place due to the evolution of the health situation, this part would be neutralized (no report, no evaluation, no rating). The rating for the AA would then be the rating for the theoretical part.
Content of Learning Activity
new challenges in mineral processing ; new opportunities ; advanced flotation ; dry gravity concentration ; centrifugal concentration ; automatic sorting ; subsidiary operations (sedimentation, filtration, sintering) ; sampling of granular matters ; basics of extractive metallurgy (pyrometallurgy, hydrometallurgy) ; laboratory activities (comminution, particle-size analysis, wet and dry gravity concentration, sampling)
