Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • ills in the various disciplines of computer science, which come after those within the Bachelor's in computer science.

Learning Outcomes of UE

Understand how classical applications work (web, mail, DNS, ...) ;
Specify, simulate, implement and use network protocols ;
Understand the network stack model and the services offered at each layer.

Understand how computer networks are organized in the Internet.

Understand, model and analyse a transport protocol.
Understand, model and analyse a routing protocol.
Understand the architecture of a networking equipment (host, router, switch).

Understand, apply and interpret computer network performance metrics.

Content of UE

Prior Experience

Knowledge of a high-level programming language (Java, C, Python) and the object-oriented paradigm. Projects to complete during the laboratories assume this knowledge !!! Knowledge of operating systems and computer architecture.

Type of Assessment for UE in Q1

  • Presentation and/or works
  • Oral examination

Q1 UE Assessment Comments

Oral exam 70%, Lab sessions 30%.
The lab sessions only take place once during the year. It is not possible to repeat the lab sessions. As a consequence, if the student does not participate, he fails without possibility of a 2nd examination assessment. Only the oral part of the examination can be taken during the 2nd examination session assessment.
