Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the fundamentals
    • Understand the key areas of chemistry: inorganic, organic, physical, biological and analytical chemistry, as well as basic knowledge required in mathematics, biology and physics
    • Provide basic knowledge in more specialised fields of chemistry (e.g. in theoretical chemistry, chemistry of materials, macromolecular chemistry)
    • Have developed the learning skills needed to undertake further studies with a sufficient degree of autonomy
  • Provide clear and accurate information
    • Communicate information, ideas, problems and solutions to a qualified scientific partner
  • Collaborate and work in a team
    • Have developed practical skills in chemistry through practical sessions in the laboratory, including analytical, organic and physical chemistry, during which they have worked individually or in groups.
  • Have a rigorous scientific approach
    • Gather and interpret relevant scientific data and critically analyse it considering scientific, ethical and environmental aspects
    • Have integrated theoretical and/or practical skills during an introductory training session on scientific research

Learning Outcomes of UE

- to design original experiments in the field of popularization of chemistry - know how to disseminate and present to an informed and uninformed public the experiences implemented

Content of UE

- preparation of original and attractive experiences for any public - preparation of an experimental protocol - presentation of the experiment to a panel of chemists - presentation of the experiment during Science Days (all ages)

Prior Experience

Not applicable

Type of Assessment for UE in Q2

  • Presentation and/or works

Q2 UE Assessment Comments

the evaluation will be based on several aspects: - preparation of the original experience - "chemical" presentation in front of a panel of chemists - presentation at the science festival

Type of Assessment for UE in Q3

  • Presentation and/or works

Q3 UE Assessment Comments

no Q3 evaluation
