Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Understand "elementary" mathematics profoundly
    • Understand and use the naive set theory
    • Give examples and counterexamples for definitions, properties, theorems, etc.
  • Understand and produce strict mathematical reasoning
    • Use mathematical vocabulary and formalism appropriately
    • Make sense of formal expressions
  • Solve new problems
    • Abstract and manipulate theories and use these to solve problems

Learning Outcomes of UE

At the end of the course, the students will be able to:

Design a relational database model.
Issue queries against a relational database.
Understand the functioning of a relational database system.

Content of UE

The relational model.
Relational algebra.
Relational calculus.
SQL.
Normalization (3NF, BCNF, 4NF, 5NF).
Transaction management.
