Programme component

Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the theoretical and methodological fundamentals in psychology and educational sciences to analyse a situation involving these disciplines
    • Identify and explain the concepts, principles and models of fundamental theoretical trends in psychology and educational sciences and their applications
    • Identify and describe the biological and socio-cultural foundations of human behaviour
    • Identify and describe the specific characteristics of psychology and educational sciences and their relationship to other contributory disciplines
    • Describe the principles of methodological approaches (objectives, methods, techniques and tools) to understand and explain the functioning of individuals, groups and organisations
  • Provide clear, accurate, and reasoned information
    • Summarise the contributions of different sources to justify an opinion or decision
    • Write bibliographic references and results of statistical analysis in a standardised way (according to APA standards)
    • Structure data gathered during the analysis of an intervention request
    • Provide information (both orally and in writing) regarding the fields of psychology and educational sciences in an intelligible manner, with a good command of the language communication techniques.
  • Grow personally and professionally
    • Name the separate branches of psychology and educational sciences
    • Identify the different stakeholders involved in the practice of psychology and educational sciences
    • Develop their scientific curiosity and open-mindedness
    • Understand the various means available for documentation, to promote self-learning and lifelong learning

Learning Outcomes of UE

At the end of the instruction, the students will be able to: examine the sociological principles leading to the creation of the school; define and illustrate the issues in sociology of education; define the main streams in sociology of education; examine the determinants of the success at school; analyse the mecanisms working at school in favour of social inequalities

Content of UE

From the economical approach t othe humanistic approach of the school; the holistic paradigm and the individualistic paradigm of the school; the construction of the judgment at school; the effects of the judgment at school on the child; the school success in poor milieu; the violence at school; the sociological concepts of inequalities at school.
