Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcomes of UE
The major aims of this course are to develop an understanding of the human body at tissue and organ levels. The structural orientation is of importance since it allows the integration with other course such as physiology, immunology, biochemistry or cell biology. The course also aims to indicate the clinical importance of the subject and the relevance of histology in general biology. Finally, this course is a prerequisite to the study of Histopathology. During TP students have also acquired the technical mastery for the good use of optical microscope.
Content of UE
General histology involves the study of cells and tissue structures in the human body using light and electron microscopy. General histology : Structure of the cell, epithelial cells, contractile cells, connective tissue, nervous tissue, blood cells and bone marrow.
