      Content of Learning Activity

      General introduction to financial institutions : * PART I : Review of the 5 main functions of the financial system : payment services, intermediation services, management of uncertainty, fixing of asset prices, management of asymmetric information * PART II : Overview and characterisation of the main financial markets and institutions ; * PART III : Which role for public authorities ? General introduction to issues related to monetary policy (central banks), to the regulation and supervision of the financial system (financial stability dimension) and to the role of the international financial institutions.
