Organisational online arrangements for the end of Q3 2019-2020 assessments (Covid-19)
      • Written exam (multiple choice, open questions)
Description of the modifications to the Q3 2019-2020 online assessment procedures (Covid-19)
All students will receive the questions simultaneously and will have to answer in a limited time. It will be an open book exam, but there will be insufficient time to look up all the answers. The questions will be individualised. There will be problem sets and questions of understanding. Some problem sets will be very close to the problems solved in the book, other questions, probably slightly simpler, will be new problem sets.

      Content of Learning Activity

Fundamental concepts in physics: pressure, work, energy, enthalpy, first and second law of thermodynamics, transfers of energy, insulation, Boltzmann's law, frequency, wavelength and energy of electromagnetic waves. Fundamental concepts of chemistry: stoichiometry, enthalpy of reactions, photochemical reactions, chemical equilibria, acid-base reactions, solubility product, Henry's law. Dynamic modelling of chemical reactions and physical processes: steady state conservative systems, perfectly mixed reactors, flow plug reactors (differential equations of zero, first and second order). Application of chemical and physical concepts to major environmental problems: climate warming, ocean acidification, biological oxygen demand, phosphor and nitrogen cycles...
