| Production of two works in accordance with the instructions available on Moodle : * comparison of two translations of a literary work (to be chosen from the list on Moodle); * revision of an excerpt from a literary work (to be chosen from the texts available on Moodle). Partial dispensation if one of the two works completed in Q1 was deemed satisfactory. |
Content of Learning Activity
Textual criticism and correction of literary drafts of translations; comparison of translations of works of 19th and 20th century European literature; exercises on particular issues (presentation of dialogues, choice of past tenses in narrative, use of the translator's note, etc.); reflection on the evolution of the stylistic and esthetic standards in literary translation.
