Description of the modifications to the Q3 2019-2020 online assessment procedures (Covid-19) |
The six chapters taught in class will be assessed by means of multiple choice questions and short-answer questions. The exam will take the form of a test on the Moodle page. The test will be available over a period of 3 days (see Faculty examination timetable): students will be allowed one attempt and one attempt only anytime during these 3 days. The attempt will be timed (2 hours maximum). Chapters: - Meet the Britons (Names and Geography, Britishness, social structure and identity) - Order, Order! (Government and Political Life) - Bobbies, Barristers and Burglars (Law and judicial system) - The Footsie, the Nanny, John Bull and Friends (The Economy, the Welfare State and international relations) - Rebel, Rebel (Media, arts and cultural life) Example questions will be made available to the students via Wooflash (online application). Those questions will allow students to prepare for the exam. Wooflash questions will be made available in the two comin weeks (between April 20th and May 1st). |
Content of Learning Activity
Students will become acquainted with the geographical, historical and socioeconomic context of the language they are studying.
They will have to do research and hand in personal assignments on questions related to these topics. Brief weekly press review.
