The course lasts for one week. The first day is dedicated to theoretical aspects (functioning of the microscopes, sample preparation) and to demonstrations of both types of microscopes (SEM and TEM). The remaining of the week focus on the practical aspects: sample preparation (critical point drying, sputter coating), training to the use of the SEM and sample observation. For this last part, each student works individually with an instructor.
