Individual online multiple-choice written test divided into theoretical and practical questions during the exam period. Theoretical questions (weighting 60%) Content: microprocessors. Cache memory. Memories. Busses. Interruptions. The data path. The control path. Stack mechanisms. Pipeline architecture. Format of instructions. Addressing modes. Arbiters. Practical questions (40% weighting): documentation available on Moodle and analysis/understanding of sample codes. Content: 8051 (architecture and assembler) PIC (architecture, code analysis in C language). |
Content of Learning Activity
The study of the internal organization of computers: their internal structure, interactions between its various constituting components, the understanding of different microprocessor architectures, the implications of programming and interaction mechanisms. The practical work will make extensive use of programming techniques, interrupt mechanisms, and interaction with peripheral devices.
