• Linguistic Skills - Apply linguistic knowledge to the practice of translation or interpretation.
• Master the French language at level C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
• Master the foreign languages at level C2 in reading and listening, and level C1 in writing and speaking.
• Continuously assess and maintain that linguistic knowledge.
• Transmit a message expressed in another language, orally or in writing, all the while respecting the intention, the target audience, the linguistic register and the objectives of the original language and message.

Learning Outcomes of UE

At the end of the second module of the master in translation, students should be able to: - translate specialized texts in the fields considered with a high degree of proficiency as to the style and the content; - choose the appropriate terms as to ensure their translation is fit for publication without an over-lengthy revision by a specialist of the field; - warrant their terminological and stylistic choices; - use the basic tools involved in computer-enhanced translation.

Content of UE

Translating texts on legal / political and scientific / technological / economic subjects. Practical sessions with use of the appropriate office automation and computer tools such as word processing and specialized databases.
