Programme component

Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

Understand language of instruction and foreign languages (language skills)

Use French perfectly in a variety of non-technical situations, both orally and in writing
Understand, reformulate and summarise documents and presentations, in French, on various topics written by experts, including those related to current affairs
Communicate easily and adequately, in both selected foreign languages, at a minimum level of B2 in line with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)

Understand and integrate cultural similarities and differences (cultural and intercultural skills)

Demonstrate real knowledge of the cultures of the studied languages
Identify cultural differences and talk about them
Be familiar with codes and conventions of other cultures for the sake of interpersonal relationships
Develop knowledge in various fields, in particular those aimed at by translation activities

Use everyday technology (technological skills)

Use standard office software tools and editorial assistance effectively

Use lexicographical resources and reference materials to lead linguistic mediation activities individually or as part of a team (professional skills)

Use printed or electronic dictionaries and reference materials appropriately
Reformulate, summarise, translate or interpret a document of general interest written or presented orally in a foreign language into French
Carry out, alone or in groups, activities or projects involving critical analysis

Conduct relevant research and report on it in a critical manner (cognitive skills)

Conduct targeted and reasoned documentary research in both the core language and the foreign languages studied
Assess the relevance and reliability of documentary sources used
Give a critique of the studied literature
