Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the fundamentals
    • Have a good knowledge and understanding of the basic principles of physics and of the role of models and theories.
    • Undertake further study having already acquired and enhanced the necessary learning skills
  • Collaborate and work in a team
    • Have developed practical skills in physics through practical sessions in the laboratory, including error analysis and critical evaluation of experimental results, and sessions during which they have worked individually and in groups.
  • Have a rigorous scientific approach
    • Solve simple problems in the context of physics by identifying their basic aspects and by using both appropriate theoretical and experimental methods

Learning Outcomes of UE

The objective is to understand the properties of matter in the solid state. We study the basic excitations in atomic crystals and the movement of electrons, which gives rise to the thermal and electrical properties of solids. In addition we introduce various connected subjects, such as superconductors, nanostructures and photonic crystals.
