Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the fundamentals
    • Understand the key areas of chemistry: inorganic, organic, physical, biological and analytical chemistry, as well as basic knowledge required in mathematics, biology and physics
  • Collaborate and work in a team
    • Have developed practical skills in chemistry through practical sessions in the laboratory, including analytical, organic and physical chemistry, during which they have worked individually or in groups.
  • Grow personally and professionally
    • Have developed, in the context of chemistry, generic skills that are applicable in many other contexts, particularly in the use of the English language, scientific programming, and safety and risk in the laboratory
  • Have a rigorous scientific approach
    • Gather and interpret relevant scientific data and critically analyse it considering scientific, ethical and environmental aspects

Learning Outcomes of UE

Understand, interpret, and apply the fundamental principles of chemistry that are required in the field of chemical analysis, in the frame of diluted aqueous solutions. Formalize and solve issues related to chemical analysis. Handle chemical analysis instruments.

Content of UE

The chemical equilibrium ; acidimetric, complexometric, redox, and precipitation methods ; gravimetry ; molecular absorption spectrophotometry ; introduction to electrochemical methods ( potentiometry , electrogravimetry ) ; statistics applied to analytical chemistry.

Prior Experience

General chemistry
